Injury Assessment
Our ACC registered podiatrists provide assessments for foot, ankle, and lower limb injuries resulting from an accident.
Please note that M3 Podiatry does not offer biomechanical assessments at this time.
Orthotics
An orthotics assessment is a podiatry consultation focused on how your feet load, move, and support your body during everyday activity. Orthotics are shoe inserts designed to improve foot alignment, reduce strain on joints and soft tissues, and support more efficient movement.
At M3 Podiatry, orthotics are never one-size-fits-all. We assess your foot structure, gait, posture, and symptoms before deciding whether orthotics are appropriate, and if so, how they should be designed specifically for you.
Orthotics may be used to:
- Reduce pain
- Improve alignment
- Support injury recovery
- Prevent recurring problems
- Improve comfort during work, sport, or daily activity
If you have an ACC covered injury, you may be eligible to have your orthotics funded by ACC. However, the following criteria applies.
Criteria: The need for orthotics must be caused by your injury. The orthotics must be beneficial to your treatment.
You must have an orthotic prescription from a medical specialist. Unfortunately, a prescription from a GP is not accepted.
Acceptable medical specialists:
-
Sports medicine specialist
-
Orthopedic surgeon
-
General Surgeon
-
Rheumatologist
-
Physiotherapist (in some cases)
If you have an injury but do not have a referral from a medical specialist, you may still be eligible, our podiatrist will be happy discuss your case
